The draft law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion, which is a historic turning point in the process of a Terror-Free Turkey, came to the TBMM Justice Commission today. Before the meeting, there was a scuffle at the entrance to the hall. The 12-article framework law is expected to come to the General Assembly agenda after the commission phase.
The TBMM Justice Commission convened to discuss the Draft Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration. Before the meeting, tension arose at the entrance to the hall due to the crowd.
MEMBERS WILL CONDUCT THE LEGISLATION PROCESS OF THE DRAFT
The commission, which came together under the chairmanship of Istanbul Deputy Cüneyt Yüksel, has on its agenda the "Draft Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration (2/3793)". Commission members will conduct the commission phase of the legislation process by carrying out detailed examinations on the articles of the draft.
The meetings, to be held in meeting hall number 3 in the Commissions Block of the Public Relations Building, started today at 15:30. In the statement made by the Commission Presidency, it was noted that if the meetings are not completed on the specified day, the meeting will continue on the following days until the end of work.
"NOT AN AMNESTY REGULATION"
Yüksel, emphasizing that the draft is not an amnesty regulation, made the following assessments: "The operation of the mechanisms envisaged in the draft depends on the determination by security institutions that the PKK/KCK terrorist organization and all related formations have ended their de facto existence and have surrendered all weapons and ammunition under their control, and on the publication of the National Security Council Decision regarding the confirmation of this determination in the Official Gazette. The common voice rising from Edirne to Hakkari is this: Let not our children, but the weapons be buried in the ground. Every article we write, every sentence we construct, and every regulation we put forward as the TBMM will be the expression of this common wish in the language of law."
