In the Kemer district of Burdur, 55-year-old Fatma Duran, who was diagnosed with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever after a tick bite in the forest, died in the hospital where she was being treated.
A 55-year-old woman, diagnosed with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever after a tick bite in the forest in the Kemer district of Burdur about 15 days ago, has died in the hospital where she was being treated.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred about 15 days ago in the forested area of the Akçaören village region in the Kemer district of Burdur.
WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AS SOON AS SHE NOTICED
A tick attached to Fatma Duran's body while she was working in the forest. Noticing the tick when she returned home in the evening, Duran applied to Burdur State Hospital the next day.
Kept under observation here for a day, Duran was referred to Antalya Education and Research Hospital on suspicion of a tick-borne disease.
DIED IN THE HOSPITAL
It was learned that samples taken from Duran were sent to Ankara for further testing, and as a result of the examinations, she was diagnosed with Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), which can be transmitted through ticks.
Fatma Duran, 55, who was treated at Antalya Education and Research Hospital for about a week, died today despite all the interventions of the doctors.
