A passenger train collided with a minibus that was stranded on the tracks at a level crossing in Kırıkkale. The driver escaped at the last moment by leaving the vehicle before the train arrived. There were no injuries in the accident; however, the minibus was heavily damaged.
Moments when a passenger train hit a minibus that was stuck on the tracks at a level crossing in Kırıkkale were captured by security cameras. In the footage, it was seen that the driver escaped at the last moment by getting out of the vehicle just before the train arrived.
According to the information obtained, the minibus driven by L.T. was stuck on the train tracks while trying to pass through a level crossing with closed barriers in the Aşağımahmutlar neighborhood.
TRAIN HIT THE STUCK MINIBUS
At that moment, the driver noticed the approaching Eastern Express, which was on the Ankara-Kars route, and abandoned the vehicle. Shortly after, the rapidly approaching passenger train collided with the minibus that was stuck on the tracks.
PROCEEDINGS INITIATED AGAINST THE DRIVER
The vehicle, which was thrown several meters due to the impact, sustained heavy damage. There were no injuries in the accident. Upon notification, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. After an inspection at the accident site, the train continued its journey. The damaged minibus was removed from the scene with the help of a tow truck.
Judicial proceedings were initiated against the driver L.T. for "endangering traffic safety" and "damaging public property."
