The fact that Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal will join the AK Party has become the top agenda item in the city. Faruk Kılınç, the Afyonkarahisar representative of Haberler.com, conveyed the latest developments to presenter Melis Yaşar, stating, "It is reported that a group of 7-8 municipal council members will switch to the AK Party." Kılınç noted that the people of Afyon are completely divided on the transfer issue.
Haberler.com Afyonkarahisar Representative Faruk Kılınç explained the behind-the-scenes of the transfer claim that had an earthquake-like effect in the city to Melis Yaşar. Kılınç conveyed the reports that not only Mayor Burcu Köksal but also a large group with her are on the path to the AK Party.
"EVEN THE CHAIRMAN CANNOT REACH HER BY PHONE"
Faruk Kılınç, sharing the latest field information, summarized the extent of the crisis with these words: "For two days, the people of Afyonkarahisar have had only one topic: Has Ms. Burcu switched to the AK Party or is she about to? The statement made by the provincial chairman in front of the municipality last evening revealed everything. They said, 'We can't reach her, we don't know what's happening.' Information even reached us that the CHP Chairman himself could not reach her. This silence has further reinforced the public's belief that the transfer is finalized."
"7-8 MORE PEOPLE FROM THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL WILL ALSO SWITCH"
Kılınç, stating that the transfer would not be limited to the mayor, brought up another striking claim: "In the corridors, it is being discussed that not only Ms. Burcu but also a group of approximately 7-8 municipal council members will switch to the AK Party. These names are already being debated among the public. If this happens, the arithmetic in the municipal council will completely change."
"THE PUBLIC REACTS BY SAYING 'YOU BETRAYED US'"
Emphasizing that the atmosphere in the city is quite tense, Kılınç said, "Citizens are literally divided into two. While doing a live broadcast, we personally see people grumbling and reacting from behind. The number of those saying, 'Is this why we voted for you, you betrayed us' is significantly high. However, there is also a group who thinks that her party has put immense pressure on her, and that Ms. Burcu chose this path for this reason."
"ERDOĞAN MAY PIN THE BADGE ON TUESDAY"
Sharing his expectation for the final stage of the process, Kılınç concluded his remarks as follows: "Although it remains a mystery for now, Tuesday's AK Party group meeting will clarify everything. There are very strong reports that our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will personally pin the badge. Additionally, the removal of Central District Chairman Murat Albayrak, known to be close to Ms. Burcu, is interpreted as one of the most concrete signals of this move."
