In the Karapınar district of Konya, it has been revealed that the driver Özcan Karakaya, whose body was found in a burning truck, was shot in the head by his colleague Şakir T. and had his head severed. The vehicle was then set on fire to make it look like an accident. Şakir T., who was taken into custody, stated in his initial testimony, "He spoke badly about my sister. So I killed him."
In the incident that occurred at the 7th kilometer of the Karapınar-Konya highway, the body of driver Özcan Karakaya was found in the cabin section of the overturned and burned truck. Özcan Karakaya's lifeless body was taken to the Karapınar State Hospital morgue for autopsy. The autopsy revealed that Karakaya was shot in the head with a gun before the fire and that his head was severed.
POLICE HAVE TAKEN ACTION
The teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Konya Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch also initiated an investigation regarding the incident. It was determined that Özcan Karakaya, who lived in the Karabağ neighborhood of Cihanbeyli district in Konya, had taken his colleague Şakir T., who also lived in the same neighborhood, with him to Kayseri, and they were on their way back to Konya with scrap materials they had obtained from there. The teams detained Şakir T. on suspicion in the Karabağ neighborhood.
HE CONFESSED HIS CRIME
Şakir T., who confessed to his crime, stated in his first statement, "Özcan Karakaya and I are colleagues. We were returning to Konya with the load of scrap material we obtained from Kayseri. He spoke badly about my sister, and since it was a matter of honor, I killed him. To make it look like an accident, I set the truck on fire and fled to Cihanbeyli," he said.
After a health check, Şakir T. was taken to the Karapınar District Police Department and was referred to the courthouse today after his procedures.
