A fire that broke out at a gas cylinder dealer in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun spread to an adjacent workplace and the apartments of a 6-story building. During the fire, the cylinders in the workplace exploded one after another, and 4 people, including fire department personnel, were taken to the hospital after being affected by the smoke.
A fire that broke out for an undetermined reason at a gas cylinder dealership in the Çay neighborhood of Samsun's Tekkeköy district quickly grew and spread to an adjacent workplace and some apartments in a 6-story building.
CYLINDERS EXPLODED ONE AFTER ANOTHER
Meanwhile, as the cylinders in the workplace exploded, a great panic occurred in the vicinity.
Upon the notification, teams from the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, along with police and health teams, were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews intervened in the fire and began extinguishing efforts, while a TOMA (water cannon vehicle) belonging to the Samsun Police Department also supported the firefighting operations.
4 PEOPLE WERE HOSPITALIZED
Some firefighters and citizens were affected by the dense smoke that occurred during the fire. Those affected by the smoke received initial treatment in ambulances at the scene. Four people, including firefighting personnel, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
As a result of the teams' efforts, the fire in the cylinder depot and the apartment was extinguished.
