The Turkish truck driver Hüseyin Fırat, who was seriously injured when munitions hit his truck in Iran, is continuing his fight for life in intensive care. While his family and Turkish officials are requesting the transfer of the injured driver to Turkey, the transfer by air ambulance cannot be carried out due to both his critical health condition and the closure of Iranian airspace.

HIT BY MUNITIONS ON HIS TRUCK

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred on March 6. The Turkish truck driver Hüseyin Fırat, who was on his way from Tehran to Tabriz, was hit by munitions approximately 90 kilometers before reaching the city.

Fırat, who was seriously injured in the attack, was first taken to Bu Ali Sina Hospital in Hürremdere. The injured driver was later transferred to Musavi Hospital in Zencan on March 7.

UNDERGOING TREATMENT IN INTENSIVE CARE

Hüseyin Fırat, who has undergone a series of operations, is still receiving treatment in intensive care. Doctors state that transferring him to another country at this stage is risky due to his sensitive health condition.

AIRSPACE CLOSED, TRANSFER NOT POSSIBLE

Fırat's family initially requested his transfer to Turkey. However, due to the doctors not allowing the transfer and the closure of Iranian airspace, the transfer by air ambulance could not be carried out.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the hospital management has been reluctant to send the medical report showing Fırat's health condition and suitability for transfer to Turkey to Turkish officials. Authorities stated that the report could be given to the family members.

TURKISH OFFICIALS INVOLVED

In light of the developments, the Turkish Republic Consulate General in Tabriz has made efforts with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' East Azerbaijan Representation.

Hüseyin Fırat's situation is also being closely monitored by the Turkish Republic Embassy in Tehran and the Consulate General in Tabriz.

HIS FATHER IS ALSO TRYING TO REACH ZENCAN

Hüseyin Fırat's father, Coşkun Fırat, stated that he is on his way to reach the hospital where his son is located. Indicating that he is approximately 90 kilometers away from Zencan, father Fırat mentioned that he needs to transfer the leather cargo he is carrying to another vehicle and that he could reach Zencan at the earliest on March 9 after the procedures.

Father Fırat conveyed to Turkish officials that he knows his son's condition is critical, but his priority is not the transfer to Turkey, but rather stabilizing his health condition at the hospital where he is located.
