The United States has raised the reward it previously set for information leading to the capture or arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to $25 million. REWARD AMOUNT FOR MADURO'S CAPTURE INCREASEDKirby announced that the U.S. has increased the reward for information leading to the capture or arrest of President Maduro from $15 million, set in 2020, to $25 million. MADURO SWORN IN AS PRESIDENTNicolas Maduro, who won the presidential election in Venezuela on July 28, 2024, with 52% of the vote, was sworn in for a new term. In his speech at the ceremony, Maduro stated, "I swear before this Constitution to fulfill all its mandates, representing the history of Venezuela, its noble and brave people, and I am starting a new era of peace, prosperity, and new democracy. This new presidential term will be an era of peace, prosperity, equality, and new democracy."
