The U.S. military intervention in Venezuela is welcomed by some supporters of President Donald Trump, while others question this move.

According to a report by The New York Times (NYT), the U.S. military intervention in Venezuela has divided Trump supporters.

While the military intervention in Venezuela is celebrated as a "victory" by many Republicans, there are also those among the supporters of the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) movement and some Republicans who have reacted against the military intervention.

"NO CLEAR MESSAGE HAS BEEN GIVEN ABOUT THE MILITARY INTERVENTION"

Trump's former advisor Steve Bannon praised the execution of the military operation in Venezuela on the podcast program called "War Room." However, Bannon stated that no clear message has been given about the military intervention, and this situation has angered and confused the base. Bannon also mentioned that Trump's statements, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio's comments targeting Hamas and Hezbollah, were "confusing."

HARSH REACTION FROM SOCIAL MEDIA PHENOMENON

U.S. social media phenomenon and commentator Candace Owens stated in a post on her account on the U.S.-based X company's social media platform that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has carried out "another hostile invasion of a country" at the command of "global psychopaths." Owens compared the military intervention to the U.S. actions in Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

"IT DOES NOT SERVE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE"

There were also critics of the military intervention among Republicans in the U.S. Congress. Republican member of the House of Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene accused the Trump administration of not serving the American people. Greene argued that the administration serves large corporations, banks, and executives of oil companies.

"WE DID NOT VOTE FOR THIS"

Republican House member Thomas Massie also stated that the administration's intervention in Venezuela does not aim to combat drugs but rather targets oil interests and regime change. Massie used the expression, "We did not vote for this."
