In the İnegöl district of Bursa, a father whose son was injured in an accident that occurred 5 months ago attacked the taxi driver's brother with a gun, who accidentally injured his son.
The incident occurred around 02:00 in the Kemalpaşa neighborhood next to the district stadium. Eyüp A.'s (43) son, who was hit by taxi driver Melih G. five months ago, was injured. While the court acquitted the taxi driver, Eyüp A. called Mustafa G., the brother of the taxi driver who had the accident, last night, asking him to pick him up as a customer. Taxi driver Mustafa G., thinking the caller was a customer, went to the specified address. Eyüp A., who got into the taxi behind the district stadium, pointed his gun at the taxi driver. Eyüp A. fired a blank gun inside the taxi and also hit Mustafa G. with the butt of the gun. Citizens who heard the gunshots reported the situation to the police. Police teams who arrived at the scene detained Eyüp A., while the injured taxi driver was taken to İnegöl State Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Suspect Eyüp A. said, "Was my child a puppy? You hit and passed. The court acquitted you. Am I going to let you be comfortable?" The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
"URGENT MEASURES MUST BE TAKEN"
Mesut Ekren, the President of the İnegöl Taxi Cooperative, reacted to the incident in which the taxi driver was injured. Ekren stated, "Between 12-1 at night, one of our taxi drivers working at İnegöl State Hospital is now facing what we can call robbery or deprivation of liberty. Due to an accident that occurred five months ago, the court process resulted in an acquittal for our taxi driver friend because of the injury to the son of the person involved. However, the person who attempted to rob the taxi driver and deprive him of his freedom called our taxi driver friend with a private phone and took him hostage. Therefore, we experienced a sad event last night. He pointed a gun at our friend and injured him by hitting him twice on the head with the butt of the gun. How can I say, our friend has nothing to do with the incident; he has been blamed for a crime committed by his brother due to an accident. The incident we experienced last night is a sad event. Hopefully, we will not experience this again. As the President of the İnegöl Taxi Cooperative, we stand by our taxi drivers. We expect our security forces and law enforcement to be by our side and support us. We will do our best to prevent such incidents from happening again. Hopefully, we will not experience this again."
