The delegations of the United States and Russia met for the second time in Istanbul. A large number of Turkish and foreign press members showed great interest in the meeting, where issues related to embassy activities between the US and Russia would be discussed.

The U.S. delegation arrived at the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul at 09:45 as part of a meeting to discuss issues related to embassy activities between the U.S. and Russia.

In the meeting, the Russian delegation is led by Russia's Ambassador to Washington, Aleksandr Darchiyev, while the U.S. delegation is headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, responsible for Russia and Central Europe.

INTENSE INTEREST IN THE MEETING

A large number of Turkish and foreign press members showed intense interest in the meeting.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that the second meeting in Istanbul would focus solely on "embassy operations," and that issues such as Ukraine's security or any political or security matters would not be on the agenda.

Bruce said, "The U.S. and Russian delegations will meet for the second time in Istanbul on April 10 to try to make progress in stabilizing the operations of our bilateral missions." The Russian and U.S. delegations first met on February 18 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, where they discussed topics such as the re-establishment of bilateral relations and ending the war in Ukraine.

THE FIRST MEETING LASTED 6.5 HOURS

The U.S. and Russian delegations held their first meeting in Istanbul to address embassy activities on February 27 at the residence of the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul.

The meeting in Arnavutköy lasted approximately 6.5 hours.

Turkey continues to maintain its determination to contribute to peace and host the negotiations.
