In Şanlıurfa, 11 tons of moldy and worm-infested walnut kernels prepared for baklava production were seized during inspections conducted by the Municipal Police and the Agriculture Directorate teams. Legal action has been initiated against the business owners.
11 tons of moldy and infested walnut kernels prepared for baklava production were seized in Şanlıurfa.
11 TONS OF INFESTED WALNUTS SEIZED
According to a statement from the Eyyübiye Municipality, inspections were carried out by the teams of the Zoning Directorate and the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry at a workplace producing baklava in the Organized Industrial Zone. During the inspection, 11 tons of walnuts were seized, which were moldy and infested inside boxes.
While the walnut kernels were confiscated to be destroyed, legal action was initiated against the business owners.
