As a result of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg matches, Arsenal and Inter advanced to the semi-finals. The Italian team Inter hosted the German representative Bayern Munich and drew 2-2, progressing to the next round. The English representative Arsenal defeated Spain's Real Madrid 2-1 to reach the semi-finals. Inter will face Barcelona in the semi-finals, while Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain.
The quarter-final stage of the UEFA Champions League has been completed. As the teams that reached the semi-finals became clear, the defending champion Real Madrid bid farewell to the tournament in the quarter-finals this season.
INTER ADVANCED
The Italian team Inter hosted the German representative Bayern Munich in the return match of the first game they won 2-1. In the match played at the Guiseppe Meazza Stadium, there was no goal in the first half. The visiting team started the second half quickly and took the lead in the 52nd minute with a goal from Harry Kane, making it 1-0. Inter equalized in the 58th minute with Lautaro Martinez and took the score to 2-1 with a header from Benjamin Pavard in the 61st minute. Bayern Munich equalized the score in the 76th minute with Eric Dier: 2-2. The Italian representative, who managed to maintain the score in the remaining part, became the team that advanced to the next round. Inter will face Barcelona in the semi-finals.
REAL MADRID ELIMINATED
In the other return match of the night, the English representative Arsenal visited Spain's Real Madrid. In the 13th minute of the match played at Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois saved the penalty taken by Bukayo Saka from Arsenal.
TWO GOALS IN TWO MINUTES
In the 65th minute of the match, Saka scored the goal that put the London team ahead, but Real Madrid quickly responded, and in the 67th minute, Vinicius Junior scored the goal that equalized the match. Arsenal regained the lead in the 90+3 minute with a goal from Gabriel Martinelli, and the match ended 2-1 in favor of the visiting team. With no goals in the remaining part of the match, Arsenal, who also won the first match 3-0, secured their place among the last four teams. Arsenal will play against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.
The first matches of the semi-finals will be played on April 29/30, and the second matches on May 6/7. The final match will be held on May 31 at Allianz Arena.
