The White House has announced US President Donald Trump's schedule for the NATO Leaders Summit in Ankara. Trump, who will arrive in Ankara on Tuesday, July 7, will hold a one-on-one meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and later attend a dinner in honor of the leaders. On the second day of the summit, Trump will hold separate bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara, following which he will hold a comprehensive press conference.

TRUMP'S ANKARA PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
According to details shared by White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly, Trump, who will depart from the US tomorrow evening, will set foot in Ankara on Tuesday, July 7 in the afternoon. He will be officially welcomed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with a ceremony. After the military unit salutation program, the two leaders will hold a one-on-one bilateral meeting in the evening. Immediately following this critical summit, Trump will attend a reception and dinner hosted by President Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan for heads of state and government and their spouses.

On Wednesday, July 8, the second day of the summit, the hottest files of world politics will be discussed. Trump, who will attend the leaders' working session after the official welcome and traditional family photo, will then hold separate bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara.

Meanwhile, according to information conveyed by senior US officials, diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine will be at the center of Trump's meeting with Zelensky. US officials assessed the situation on the Ukrainian front, stating, "The front line has largely been frozen in recent months. We feel an urgency to end the war." The US side emphasized that contacts continue with both Russia and Ukraine, and that President Trump plays a mediating role. Officials noted that the continuation of the war causes "heavy losses and destruction for both sides" and underscored that diplomatic resolution efforts will be accelerated.

Another senior US official reported that regional security risks originating from Iran and the protection of maritime trade routes will be on the agenda at the Ankara summit. The official stated that NATO allies are ready to contribute, but many countries lack sufficient naval assets and military capacity, saying, "What we need are capable allies. Some countries do not have ships and assets to make meaningful contributions." It was also noted that new collaborations and production agreements for the US defense industry could be announced during the summit, with billions of dollars worth of defense projects coming to the agenda.
