Istanbul Metro announced that it will not be in service over the weekend due to integration works for the extension of the Üsküdar-Samandıra Metro Line. The metro line will be temporarily closed from 00:00 on Friday, January 23, and will reopen on Monday, January 26.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) subsidiary company Metro Istanbul announced that the Üsküdar-Samandıra Metro Line will not be in service over the weekend due to mandatory tests required for the integration works of the extension phase.
ÜSKÜDAR-SAMANDIRA METRO IS CLOSED FOR TWO DAYS
In a statement from Metro Istanbul, it was noted that with the opening of the Samandıra Center-Sultanbeyli extension phase of the M5 Üsküdar-Samandıra Metro Line, the travel time between Üsküdar and Sultanbeyli will decrease from 150 minutes to 50 minutes.
METRO LINE IS BEING EXTENDED
In the statement, it was expressed that due to the mandatory tests required for the integration works of the extension phase, operational arrangements will be made on the Üsküdar-Samandıra Metro Line, stating, "As of 00:00 on Friday, January 23, the line will be temporarily closed to operations. There will be no service on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, and Night Metro service will not be available on these days. The line will reopen for operations at 06:00 on Monday, January 26."
The statement also mentioned that during the time the metro line is closed, transportation along the route will be provided by IETT buses, including the duration of Night Metro services.
