The veil of mystery surrounding the death of Elif Kumal, who left the campsite after arguing with her boyfriend and was found dead eight days later, is being lifted. After taking the statement of the suspect boyfriend Enis G., the incident was analyzed minute by minute. Investigations revealed that immediately after Elif left the campsite, Enis G. began to run, and this activity coincided with the increased heart rate detected by the smartwatch on his wrist.
The investigation into the death of Elif Kumal, who argued with her boyfriend and left the camp in the Kapıdağ Peninsula in Balıkesir, and whose lifeless body was found eight days later, is ongoing. It was determined that Kumal had "drowned" in the water after her car was found in the Yukarıyapıcı Pond eight days later. The possibilities regarding the death of 33-year-old Elif Kumal are being meticulously examined by the investigation units.
BROKEN VEHICLE PART BELONGED TO ELIF'S CAR
According to a report by Sabah, inspections of the vehicle belonging to Elif Kumal revealed that the driver's airbag had not deployed, while the side curtain airbags had deployed. Serious damage and fragmentation were detected on the underside of the vehicle, and it was also confirmed that the lower protective part found on the lakeshore in the early days of the incident belonged to Elif Kumal's vehicle.
Additionally, it was determined that the gray lower plastic parts belonging to the front bumper protection, which were later attached to the vehicle, were found on the lakeshore during the first days of the search and rescue efforts, and upon inspection after the vehicle was removed from the pond, it was understood that these parts also belonged to the same vehicle.
HEART RATE DETAIL ON THE SMARTWATCH
The flat tires of Elif's car and the discovery of the lower protective part by the lakeside raised the possibility that the 33-year-old woman may have fallen into the pond due to an accident. The statement of her boyfriend Enis G., who was taken into custody for not calling the Gendarmerie immediately after the incident, was also examined in detail by the investigation units. Enis G. stated in his testimony that he ran after Elif after she left with her car, and it was determined that his heart rate on the smartwatch on his wrist increased because he was running, and later he was captured on the security cameras of a water reservoir in the area. It was revealed that Elif G.'s vehicle fell into the pond without ever reaching the water reservoir area, while it was found that her boyfriend was searching for her in a different area at the time Elif fell into the pond.
LAST PERSON SHE SPOKE TO GAVE TESTIMONY AS A WITNESS
The statement of Elif's girlfriend, who was among the last people she spoke to, was also taken. The friend stated in her testimony that after Elif left the campsite, she said, "I love Enis very much, but it's not working. Please tell him this," and later mentioned that their conversations ended. It was also determined that Enis G. called Elif after she left the campsite, and that the phone was turned off after she fell into the pond.
