In Diyarbakır, the burned bodies of 49-year-old Remzi Sati and his 15-year-old son Muhammed were found inside a vehicle. Three people were detained in connection with the incident that occurred on May 19. The bodies of the father and son will be sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution in Istanbul after the procedures at the Forensic Medicine Institution.
THE SHOES WERE FOUND 150 METERS AWAY FROM THE TRUCK During the crime scene investigation, two of Muhammed's shoes were found approximately 150 meters away from the truck. Four empty bullet casings were also detected near the crime scene. It is believed that the father and son were placed inside the truck after their hands were tied, and then the vehicle was set on fire.
Due to the disfigurement of their bodies, DNA samples were taken from the family members of Remzi and Muhammed Sati for identification purposes.
"THE SON TRIED TO ESCAPE, BUT THEY CAUGHT AND TIED HIM UP" Remzi Sati's brother-in-law Ali Askan (60) stated, "On Sunday evening at 9:10, while I was sitting at home with my wife, Ali called and said, 'Come, my buffalo is lost.' After hanging up, he called again 3-4 minutes later and said, 'Come, we found the buffalo, let's bring it to the village.' Ali is his partner. They didn't buy clothes for them because he is his partner. We received information at 9:30 in the morning. My niece is his wife, we called her. She said, 'Remzi left home this evening, we haven't heard from him.' After we spoke on the phone, we went out to search. They found the corpse in a sand pit in the Köprübaşı neighborhood. The car was in a burned condition. God forbid, that's all I can say. They burned both the child and him. Why did you burn the child? What crime did the child commit? I saw the vehicle. I was about a meter away from it. They said, don't get too close, they will take the autopsy, so we moved away. We didn't see what was going on. They said, the child's shoes were found 150 meters away. The child must have run about 40-50 meters, and they caught him. They also found his father's shoes there. They found several bullets under the trees, not at the crime scene, but under the trees. I had a close friend. He said, 'I saw his hands were tied.' When they said that, I pulled away from the car. Because I couldn't stand it," he said.
"HE CALLED HIS PARTNER TWICE; THE FIRST TIME HE SAID THE BUFFALO WAS LOST, THE SECOND TIME HE SAID 'WE FOUND IT, COME TO KÖPRÜBAŞI'" Remzi Sati's wife Filiz Sati (45) stated that they were at home at 21:15 on the night of the incident, saying, "He was sitting in the room when the phone rang. The caller was his partner Ali Mert. My husband said, 'Yes, Ali, what are you saying?' Ali said, 'Our buffalo is lost, Remzi, can you come and help us?' Then my husband said, 'Okay, Ali, catch it and call me back,' and hung up. After 2-3 minutes, he called again. Ali told my husband, 'We caught it, we are in Köprübaşı neighborhood, come.' My husband said, 'Okay, I'm coming.' After performing the evening prayer, he called our son. 'Muhammed, let's go,' he said. My son replied, 'Dad, where are we going?' My husband said, 'We are going to my partner Ali Mert's place, to his village. His buffalo is lost, they caught it, we will go. If he sells it, we will buy it; if not, we will take it home and come back.' That man called him twice. He went, and after that night, we didn't call my wife again. In the morning, we called but couldn't reach her. After that, I told all our family members. They went and saw such a thing. My wife had no financial dealings with anyone. She had debts to people, but she had no debts to anyone. Whoever did this, may God punish them. Whoever did this, may they go underground before my wife does. May God punish them," she said.
"HE HAD NO ENMITY WITH ANYONE" Remzi Sati's other brother-in-law Süleyman Aydın (50) stated, "He had no enmity with anyone, no fights. He had no disputes with anyone. Only for the last 2 years, he has been raising animals in partnership with Ali Mert. They had been doing this business together for 2 years. Last year, they had a partnership for a while, and they handed over the animals to him in the same way. After selling them at the end of the season, they shared the profits. This year, they partnered again in the same way. After Remzi left home at that hour, he could not be reached again. Four casings were found at the crime scene, but I don't know if they belong to the bullets fired at them or something else. However, four empty casings were found at the crime scene. Remzi's two older sons had gone to Hatay. They were working in construction and electrical jobs. One of the children is studying in Istanbul. When this incident happened, they came back home last night," he said.
