In the case regarding the murder of a woman in the Çelebi district of Kırıkkale, whose body was tied to a barbed wire and thrown into the Kızılırmak River with a paving stone, the court has announced its decision. The court panel sentenced the victim's brother and neighbor to life imprisonment without parole separately.
The verdict has been announced in the case regarding the murder of Sevgi Gülden Yalçıner, whose body was thrown into the Kızılırmak River in the Çelebi district of Kırıkkale. During the hearing held at the 1st Heavy Penal Court, the relatives of the victim and the lawyers of the parties were present in the courtroom, while the detained defendants made their defenses via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS). The victim's daughter, M.C.D., stated that she was complaining about all the defendants and requested that they be punished in the harshest way.
HEAVY LIFE SENTENCE FOR THE VICTIM'S SISTER AND NEIGHBOR
When asked for their final words, the victim's brother, Ş.G., denied the accusations and requested his acquittal, while his neighbor, K.U., claimed that he had no connection to the incident. The other defendants also did not accept the accusations.
The court panel sentenced defendant Ş.G. to life imprisonment for "premeditated murder of his sister," and additionally to a total of 8 years and 12 months in prison for "violation of the residence's inviolability" and "deprivation of liberty." Defendant K.U. was also sentenced to life imprisonment for "intentional murder of a woman," and a total of 8 years and 12 months in prison for the other offenses.
Defendant Y.G., the victim's brother, was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison for "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence," and the announcement of the verdict was postponed, while D.U., G.F.G., and H.U. were acquitted.
SEVGİ GÜLDEN YALÇINER WAS BRUTALLY MURDERED
Following the report of Sevgi Gülden Yalçıner's disappearance on September 25, 2024, search efforts were initiated by gendarmerie and AFAD teams, and Yalçıner's body was found on October 13, tied to a barbed wire and a 70-kilogram curb stone in the Kızılırmak near the Çeşnigir Bridge, close to the Karakeçili district. Many suspects were detained as part of the investigation into the incident, and the prepared indictment was accepted by the court.
