In the Altınbaşak town of the Üzümlü district in Erzincan, 106 people who were poisoned by the food they ate at a wedding sought medical attention at hospitals. The governor's office announced that an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
In the Altınbaşak Town of the Üzümlü district in Erzincan, guests who ate the food served at a wedding ceremony attended by 350 people became ill after a while. A total of 92 people, including 10 children, who complained of dizziness and vomiting, applied to Üzümlü State Hospital and Mengücek Gazi Research Hospital. Most of the citizens were taken to hospitals in their own vehicles, while some were transported by ambulances, and the majority were discharged after the intervention.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
In a statement regarding the 106 people who were poisoned by the food they ate at the wedding, the Erzincan Governorship stated that an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident and included the following statements:
"On September 12, 2025, following notifications made to the 112 Emergency Call Center regarding many of our citizens becoming ill from the wedding meal, a total of 8 ambulances and 24 healthcare personnel were assigned to our Altınbaşak Town. Some of our affected citizens also reached the Üzümlü State Hospital and Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital by personal application. After the initial examinations conducted on our citizens at Üzümlü State Hospital and Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital, it was determined that there was a case of food poisoning, and their treatments were started immediately.
"THE GENERAL HEALTH STATUS OF OUR CITIZENS IS GOOD"
A total of 106 of our citizens were affected by the food poisoning incident, and as of September 12 at 22:10, 67 of our citizens have been discharged after the necessary treatments, while the treatments of 39 citizens continue at Üzümlü State and Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospitals. The general health status of our citizens undergoing treatment is good, and they will be discharged after their treatment processes are completed. A judicial investigation has been initiated regarding the matter."
