41-year-old Ümmühan Dilek Ata, who was sought as missing in Mersin, was found dead in a forested area in Karaman as a result of searches supported by thermal drones by gendarmerie and AFAD teams.
41-year-old Ümmühan Dilek Ata, who was reported missing in the Mut district of Mersin, was found dead hanging from a tree in a forested area in Karaman. The woman, reached during a night search conducted with thermal drone support by the teams, is evaluated to have committed suicide.
HER VEHICLE DETECTED IN FORESTED AREA
According to the information obtained, no news had been received from 41-year-old Ümmühan Dilek Ata for a while. It was determined that Ata went to the forested area near Gökçe village in the central district of Karaman with her vehicle with license plate 33 VMF 18. Upon the report, AFAD and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region around 02:00.
FOUND HANGING FROM A TREE
The teams, who conducted search and scanning activities throughout the night with thermal drone assistance in difficult terrain conditions, encountered the grim scene in the early morning hours. In the forested area at Değirmenbaşı location near Cerit village, Ata's lifeless body was found hanging from a tree.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
After the examinations conducted by the public prosecutor at the scene, Ümmühan Dilek Ata's body was taken to the morgue of Karaman Training and Research Hospital for an autopsy. While the incident is evaluated to be suicide based on preliminary findings, the comprehensive investigation launched by the security forces continues.
