A woman in Brazil, who went into a fit of jealousy, shot her boyfriend after discovering he had cheated on her. 36-year-old Diana da Silva seriously injured her 46-year-old boyfriend in the incident that took place in Sao Paulo. Security camera footage shows da Silva shooting her boyfriend in the back and mocking the man lying on the ground. The injured man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Shocking security camera footage in Brazil revealed the moment a woman shot her cheating boyfriend during a jealousy crisis.
36-year-old Diana da Silva is on the run from the police after seriously injuring her 46-year-old boyfriend, whose identity has not been disclosed, in Sao Paulo on Thursday.
The security camera footage shows da Silva rushing out and shooting the man in the back as he walks toward his apartment. The impact of the bullet causes the man to crash backward into a glass table and fall to the ground.
In the footage, da Silva is seen mocking her bloodied boyfriend, who is lying on the ground and begging her not to shoot him again.
The woman then steps back and pulls the trigger, but the gun appears to jam.
As the injured man tries to get up from the blood-soaked ground, his girlfriend returns to the apartment.
She then grabs a knife from the couch and yells at her boyfriend, who is lying on the ground.
The man was taken to Santa Marcelina Hospital. He was transferred to São Cristóvão Hospital and his condition was reported as stable as of Friday.
According to Brazilian news site G1, Civil Police investigators learned from a witness at the hospital that the man’s girlfriend had a jealousy crisis after discovering he was with another woman.
A neighbor told UOL Noticias that the couple constantly argued and cursed at each other.
"They had no boundaries. It could be during the day or at dawn," said the neighbor. "That's why no one had much contact with them."
Authorities searched the apartment belonging to the boyfriend and seized the knife and the gun. The firearm was not registered to either the man or the girlfriend.
