The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, announced the word of 2025. Ersoy stated, "The word/concept for the year 2025, determined with public participation by the Turkish Language Association, is 'digital conscience.' In this process, which involved approximately 300,000 votes, the chosen concept provocatively opens up a discussion about how conscience in the digital age is reduced to merely a 'click,' distancing itself from responsibility and action."
Approximately 300 thousand votes were cast, and the word of 2025 became "Digital Conscience".
The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, stated the following in his announcement on social media:
"The word/concept of 2025, determined with the participation of the public by the Turkish Language Association, has become 'digital conscience'. The concept chosen in this process, where approximately 300 thousand votes were cast, provocatively opens a discussion about the conscience in the digital age being reduced to merely a 'click', distancing itself from responsibility and action. 'Digital conscience' stands out as a powerful concept that reflects our individual and societal sensitivities."
