Search efforts for the mother and her 5-year-old son who went missing in the Bozkurt district of Kastamonu continued on the fifth day, while villagers reported seeing the mother and son. An eyewitness stated, "They had nothing in their hands. The distance between the Bozkurt district and Köseali village is far. A child and his mother cannot walk this far. It is very high above sea level, and walking is very difficult."

Search efforts continue for 43-year-old Huriye Helvacı and her 5-year-old son Osman Helvacı, who went missing after leaving their homes in the Meteorology TOKİ Housing in the Central Neighborhood of Bozkurt district in Kastamonu on Sunday, November 2. The search operations are being carried out by the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), the Kastamonu Police Department, the Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) under the Kastamonu Gendarmerie Command, and commando units. Additionally, a Red Crescent catering vehicle has been deployed for the teams, and volunteer citizens are also supporting the search efforts.

Ayşe Algın, who said she saw the mother and son walking on the road, stated, "I was coming back from mushroom picking. I was in front of the house, by the side of the road. The mother and son were walking on the upper road. They had nothing in their hands; they were walking normally. I had items in my hands, so there was no conversation between us. I had to come home because it was heavy. Otherwise, I would have talked to them. I saw the mother and son on the day they went missing. After I saw them, my parents also saw them," she said.

Ayşe Algın stated, "Bozkurt district and Köseali village are far apart; a child and his mother cannot walk this far. It is very high above sea level, and it is very difficult to walk. They had nothing in their hands. There were no bags or anything found. My parents also saw them and said, 'Did they come this far with a child to pick mushrooms?' We thought they were here to pick mushrooms. Otherwise, we would have chatted. There were people in the village who spoke with the mother and son next to the mosque, asking, 'Where are you going?' She replied, 'I am going to Bozkurt; how do I get to Bozkurt?' The women gave directions," she expressed.

Ayşe Sarıoğlan, who lives in the village, said, "I was complaining to myself, wondering why the woman came here to pick mushrooms with a child. I didn't know where she was from. We had gone to visit the imam the night the woman went missing. It was mentioned during the conversation. It was said, 'A woman and a child passed through the village.' The imam's wife said, 'Aunt Ayşe, I saw them too; they asked me about Bozkurt, and I told them they were going the wrong way and to turn back.' There are people who saw them while passing through the village. I was on the balcony; I saw them on the main road," she said.

New security camera footage of the mother and son has emerged in the area where search efforts are ongoing both on land and from the air. The footage shows the mother and son walking on Şen Mahalle road at 1:49 PM on Sunday, November 2. Meanwhile, search operations by the teams continue in Köseali village and its vicinity, where they were last seen.
