In an incident that occurred in Camboriu, Brazil, a male pedestrian became trapped against a wall after a female driver accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while trying to park. The man, who was smoking and distracted by his phone at the scene, got wedged between the front bumper of the vehicle and the wall. After the accident, the driver panicked, got out of the car, approached the man, and apologized. It was reported that the man escaped without serious injuries following the incident.
A mistake made by a female driver trying to park in Brazil nearly led to a major disaster. The driver, who accidentally pressed the wrong pedal, caused the vehicle to suddenly lurch forward, pinning a man who was standing by the wall at that moment.
The incident occurred on a quiet street in Camboriu, Brazil. Security camera footage shows the woman, driving a red Volkswagen Golf, slowly approaching the parking space on the right side of the road. Right next to the parking area, a man is seen crouching against the wall, smoking a cigarette and fiddling with his phone.
However, when the driver accidentally pressed the gas instead of the brake while parking, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The man, unable to comprehend what was happening, found himself trapped between the front bumper of the car and the wall behind him. Those moments were captured on camera second by second.
The woman driver, while wearing her seatbelt, panicked and opened the door, looking at the pedals in confusion. Shortly after, the trapped man managed to free himself and walked away from the scene after throwing his cigarette on the ground.
The driver then got out of the vehicle and approached the man to apologize for what had happened. According to local media reports, the man escaped the accident without serious injury.
Authorities have not shared any further details regarding the incident, and it is still unknown whether any action has been taken. This accident has been recorded as another addition to the frequent traffic accidents occurring in Brazil.
Meanwhile, a much more tragic traffic accident recently occurred in the country. A family traveling home for Christmas tragically lost their lives in a horrific crash. Two young girls also lost their lives in the accident.
40-year-old Lucas Celestino Reis and his 35-year-old wife Jéssica Silva da Hora were traveling with their daughters Ana (8) and Ísis (3). Jéssica's 19-year-old niece was also in the vehicle. Following the family was a second car carrying other relatives.
During the journey, the vehicle following the family lost sight of the car ahead after a while. Concerned, the father turned back to search for the vehicle. However, when he was unsuccessful, he reported the situation to the police.
After hours of searching, police teams found the missing vehicle overturned in a creek by the side of the highway. It was determined that all five people in the vehicle had lost their lives. The police stated that the driver lost control of the steering wheel, veered off the road, and the vehicle rolled into the creek.
The funerals of the deceased were held on Sunday in the city of Ibicuí.
