The Istanbul Governorship announced that, according to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, snowfall is expected to begin this evening in Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Beşiktaş, Çatalca, Esenler, Esenyurt, Eyüp, Gaziosmanpaşa, Kağıthane, Sultangazi, Ataşehir, Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Ümraniye, Sarıyer, Arnavutköy, Beykoz, and Şile.

The statement from the Istanbul Governorship included the following remarks:

"According to the evaluations of the General Directorate of Meteorology;

It is predicted that the wind in Istanbul will blow from the south and southwest (Lodos) directions, and from the evening hours, it will shift to the north and northwest (Karayel) directions, blowing strongly (40–60 km/hour). It is expected that the air temperatures will drop suddenly and rapidly after the wind changes direction, decreasing from 14 °C to 3 °C, and in higher areas, down to 0 °C.

HERE ARE THE DISTRICTS EXPECTED TO RECEIVE SNOW

In this context, it is anticipated that the precipitation will start as rain across the province from the evening hours; with the drop in temperatures, especially in the northern and higher areas (Başakşehir, Beylikdüzü, Beşiktaş, Çatalca, Esenler, Esenyurt, Eyüp, Gaziosmanpaşa, Kağıthane, Sultangazi, Ataşehir, Çekmeköy, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Ümraniye, Sarıyer, Arnavutköy, Beykoz, and Şile), it is expected to be seen as mixed rain and snow after the night hours.
