After footage captured on a mobile phone camera went viral, police imposed a total fine of 185,000 lira on the driver for various violations, impounded her motorcycle for 60 days, and confiscated her license for the same period.
In Kağıthane, female motorcycle driver Z.Ö., who blocked the front of a light commercial vehicle after a traffic-related argument over yielding, insulted Mert Ali B. and struck his vehicle. Ignoring citizens' warnings of "Don't do it, you'll get a fine," Z.Ö. then opened the vehicle's door and shouted "I'll break that phone of yours" while attacking the driver. The incident was captured on the driver's mobile phone camera, and based on the footage, police imposed a 185 thousand lira fine on Z.Ö.
The incident occurred around 4:00 PM yesterday in Yahya Kemal Neighborhood. According to information, light commercial vehicle driver Mert Ali B. was driving on the street when he began arguing with female motorcycle driver Z.Ö. over yielding.
IGNORED THE "DON'T DO IT, YOU'LL GET A FINE" WARNING
As the argument escalated, Z.Ö. blocked the front of the vehicle with her motorcycle. Insulting the driver, Z.Ö. got off the motorcycle and started hitting the vehicle, ignoring onlookers' warnings of "Don't do it, you'll get a fine." Then opening the vehicle's door, Z.Ö. attacked Mert Ali B., who was recording with his phone, shouting "I'll break that phone of yours." During the dispute, Mert Ali B. yelled back "You'll get a 180 thousand lira fine." The events were captured on the mobile phone camera.
A FINE OF 185 THOUSAND LIRA WAS IMPOSED
Police launched an investigation after the footage was shared on social media. The review identified the female motorcycle driver as Z.Ö. A total fine of 185 thousand lira was imposed on Z.Ö. for violations of 'Persistently following another vehicle for aggressive purposes in traffic,' 'Dismounting the vehicle for this purpose,' and 'Not wearing a helmet.' The motorcycle was impounded from traffic for 60 days, and the driver's license was confiscated for 60 days. Z.Ö. was handed over to the police station for legal proceedings.
