Tolga Gökalp, who served as a traffic gendarmerie on the Aydın-Denizli Highway, was found dead at his home with a gunshot wound. Initial investigations suggest that there is a possibility that Gökalp may have taken his own life.

About 3 months ago, Tolga Gökalp, who started his duty as a traffic gendarmerie on the Aydın-Denizli Highway, was found dead at home with gunshot wounds.

NEIGHBORS HEARD GUNSHOTS

The incident occurred in the İsabeyli neighborhood during the night. According to the information obtained, neighbors who heard gunshots coming from Tolga Gökalp's house, who was serving as a traffic gendarmerie on the Aydın-Denizli Highway, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. The teams that arrived at the scene shortly found Gökalp lying motionless with gunshot wounds.

HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD

Health teams determined that Gökalp had lost his life during their checks. Upon receiving the news of his death, his colleagues came to his house, and it was learned that Gökalp, originally from Mersin, had started his duty in Nazilli about 3 months ago. Nazilli Mayor Dr. Ertuğrul Tetik also came to the scene as soon as he learned of the incident and obtained information from the relevant personnel. Gökalp's lifeless body was taken to the Nazilli State Hospital Morgue after the necessary crime scene investigation work.

SUSPECTED SUICIDE

According to initial examinations, it was reported that Gökalp may have ended his own life with his service pistol. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
