A 27-year-old police officer named Sercan Yerebakan, who was stationed in Istanbul, lost his life in the tent where he was staying in his hometown of Artvin while on annual leave. It was determined that Yerebakan was poisoned by carbon monoxide leaking from a stove made from a washing machine drum in the tent.
A police officer in Artvin died from carbon monoxide poisoning in the tent where he was staying in the highlands.
Police officer Sercan Yerebakan (27), who works in the Istanbul Police Department's Riot Police Branch, came to his hometown of Artvin some time ago to spend his annual leave. Yerebakan set up a tent in Kafkasör Plateau to watch the bull wrestling events organized as part of the "44th Kafkasör Culture and Art Festival" and spent the night there. In the morning, his relatives found Yerebakan motionless in the tent. Upon notification, gendarmerie and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene.
CARBON MONOXIDE FROM THE STOVE IN THE TENT POISONED HIM
Yerebakan, who was taken to Artvin State Hospital, could not be saved despite intervention. The initial investigation revealed that Yerebakan was poisoned by carbon monoxide leaking from a stove made from a washing machine boiler in the tent.
