A woman who applied for a visa to Portugal and was rejected couldn't hold back her tears in a video she posted. The young woman expressed her outrage by saying, "I spent all my money on a plane ticket and visa just to be able to go to a country that Suleiman the Magnificent conquered as if it were a piece of cake for a week, and I went into debt. It's a country smaller than Izmir. Didn't we take this place as if it were a piece of cake?" This outburst officially divided social media, with some supporting her words and others reacting to why she made such a video.
A young woman who applied for a visa to Portugal but received a rejection expressed her disappointment through a video she shared on social media. In the video, the woman, who could not hold back her tears, explained that the expenses she incurred for a short trip put her under a serious financial burden.
"I GOT INTO DEBT" WORDS BECAME AGENDA
In her post, the young woman stated, "I spent all my money on the plane ticket and visa to be able to go to a country that Suleiman the Magnificent conquered for peanuts for 1 week, I got into debt. It's a country smaller than İzmir. Didn't we take this place for peanuts?" These words quickly spread on social media, bringing along reactions to the visa processes.
SOCIAL MEDIA DIVIDED
After the post, users were divided into two. One group supported the young woman by highlighting the difficulties and high costs experienced in visa applications. The other group criticized the expressions used and the way the video was filmed, arguing that such outbursts were inappropriate.
Here are some of those reactions;
- I don't understand why they are so upset about not being able to go to Europe. Is this something to cry about?
- Instead of focusing on the girl's ignorance, why not focus on how we can't get a visa to perhaps the smallest and least developed country in Europe?
- It always feels strange how you open the camera and reflect your real emotions? Or has everyone become such a good actor?
- All the information the girl provided is wrong, it's normal that she can't get a visa...
