THE MOST HOUSES SOLD TO RUSSIANS
In sales to foreigners, Istanbul ranked first with 611 properties sold. It was followed by Antalya with 469 properties and Mersin with 118 properties. The highest number of property sales by nationality was made to Russian citizens. In January, Russian citizens purchased 248 properties from Turkey. They were followed by Iranian citizens with 162 properties and Iraqi citizens with 103 properties.
MORTGAGED HOUSING SALES INCREASED
In Turkey, mortgaged housing sales increased by 182.8% in January compared to the same month last year, recording 16,726. The share of mortgaged sales in total housing sales was 14.9%. Of the mortgaged sales in January, 3,856 were identified as first-hand sales.
OTHER HOUSING SALES INCREASED IN JANUARY
In Turkey, other housing sales increased by 28.3% in January compared to the same month last year, reaching 95,447. The share of other sales in total housing sales was calculated as 85.1%. The number of first-hand housing sales nationwide increased by 29.8% year-on-year in January, rising to 32,785. The share of first-hand housing sales in total housing sales was determined to be 29.2%. In Turkey, second-hand housing sales increased by 44.2% in January compared to the same month last year, reaching 79,388. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was determined to be 70.8%.
