In a statement made by the Istanbul Governorate regarding the incident, the following was stated: "On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at around 21:45, an explosion occurred for an undetermined reason in the buffet located on the ground floor of a building with a ground +2 floor in Yanıkkapı Street, Bereketzade Neighborhood, Beyoğlu District. After the explosion, the building collapsed, and many fire, AFAD, and UMKE teams were dispatched to the scene. According to initial determinations, it has been established that there are no fatalities or injuries, and the teams' work at the scene continues."
