In Antalya, unidentified individuals have been placing dozens of food orders to a citizen's residence over the internet at the same time interval for 4 years. As the orders have not stopped, occasional deliveries of movers, ambulances, and funeral vehicles have also been sent to the citizen's door. The citizen, who reached the individuals via phone number, stated that they told him the digital blackmail and orders would continue unless he paid them 500,000 TL.

Civil Engineer Hakan Şaklar, residing in the Meydan Kavağı Neighborhood of Antalya's Muratpaşa district, has been receiving dozens of food orders daily for 4 years, with couriers sent to his address.

THEY SENT NOT ONLY COURIERS BUT ALSO TRANSPORTERS, AMBULANCES, AND HEARSE VEHICLES

The harassment through endless food orders sometimes escalated to different levels. Transporter, ambulance, hearse vehicles, and even police were sent to Hakan Şaklar's residence following a report that he assaulted his mother. Despite Şaklar, disturbed by the constant door knocking, posting a note on the building door, the problem remained unresolved.

THE EXTENT OF HARASSMENT CHANGED

Overwhelmed by the constant barrage of food orders and couriers, along with the escalating harassment, Hakan Şaklar filed complaints with the police station and prosecutor's office. However, it was determined that the food orders were placed using a phone number originating from abroad. Upon somehow reaching the phone number, Şaklar was shocked by the response from the person he contacted via message. The individual stated they had the contact numbers of not only him but also his mother and neighbors in the building, and demanded 500,000 TL.

"RECENTLY, THERE WERE 30 COURIERS HERE AT THE SAME TIME"

Stating he has been dealing with false orders for about 4 years, Hakan Şaklar said, "In the last 1.5 years of this 4-year period, these orders increased. It especially peaked in the last 10 days. A florist comes, food comes. Recently, there were 30 couriers here at the same time. It starts around noon and our doorbell never stops until 3:00 AM. They send transporters, hearse vehicles, ambulances, and locksmiths. We are very tired of this. I filed a complaint in 2022, but they couldn't find the person because it was a number from abroad. Now we've switched to 5G, our technology has advanced. We no longer have the endurance to bear this," he said.

"YOU WILL GIVE US 500,000 TL, OTHERWISE..."

Şaklar, stating that an ambulance and even police were sent to his door following a report that he was assaulting his mother, said, "A private ambulance came here at 2:30 AM, supposedly I was assaulting my mother. We speak through the intercom, we don't open the door. When we didn't open the door, the medical staff came with the police. We opened the door when the police came. They asked if there was any incident of violence against my mother. My mother said, 'No son, we've been dealing with these for years.' Then I asked the company official which number they were sent here with. He stated it was sent with a number originating from America. I sent a message to that number. When I said, 'Friend, do you know me, what is your problem, why are you disturbing me?' he sent a threatening message saying, 'You will give us 500,000 TL, otherwise we will shoot you, your family, and your relatives.'"

"3 DAYS HAVE PASSED, NO ONE HAS COME OR GONE, BUT WE HAVE NO PATIENCE LEFT"

Şaklar stated that the person he contacted via message told him to leave the requested money in a garbage container at a designated location in Konuksever Neighborhood, otherwise the digital blackmail would continue. He said, "I told him I didn't have a debt, asked if he had a document. He gave me 3 days, telling me to put 500,000 TL in a red bag inside the garbage container in front of the neighborhood market in Muratpaşa Konuksever Neighborhood. He sent a threatening message saying 'We will shoot you' if I didn't send it within 3 days. 3 days have passed, no one has come or gone, but we have no patience left. I want this person found. It's a pity, dozens of couriers come here every day. We have filed a criminal complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office through my lawyer for extortion, robbery, threats, blackmail, and disturbing public peace under the relevant articles of the Turkish Penal Code. I want this person to be found urgently," he said.

"THEY ALSO DISTURB THE NEIGHBORS"

Hakan Şaklar, stating that unidentified individuals also disturb his neighbors and send messages, said, "I can't give an exact number for 4 years, but there are days when 30 courier friends bringing food orders gather. It has exceeded a thousand in total. There is a digital blackmail here, they do it through a phone number from America. We heard about this before and watched in the news that it happened to many people, but unfortunately, it happened to us this time. The most interesting part is that they also disturb our neighbors and try to create discord between us. Even if it's an event outside of us, people are inevitably affected. They found the phone numbers of a couple of our neighbors. They send messages to them too. Normally, they know my family's phone numbers. They send threatening messages to our neighbors like, 'Tell your neighbor Mrs. Perihan, her son owes us 500,000 TL. Have him pay the money, otherwise we will shoot your grandchildren too. We will shoot you too,'" he said.
