In the Yeniçağa district of Bolu, three individuals were fined a total of 2,097,735 lira for illegally collecting wild salep, despite the ban. The 4.5 kilograms of wild salep confiscated by the Nature Conservation and National Parks teams led to the individuals being processed for "destroying biodiversity."
According to the statement made by the Bolu Governorship, an inspection was carried out in the land of Çamlık village in Yeniçağa district in coordination with the Public Order teams of the District Gendarmerie Command and the Environmental and Natural Life Protection teams of the Provincial Gendarmerie Command.
3 INDIVIDUALS COLLECTING 4.5 KILOS OF WILD SALEP DETECTED
During the inspections, the plants from 3 individuals found to have collected 4.5 kilograms of wild salep, which is prohibited from being collected, were handed over to the teams of the Provincial Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
2 MILLION TL FINE IMPOSED
The Nature Conservation and National Parks team imposed an administrative fine totaling 2 million 97 thousand 735 lira, including 699 thousand 245 lira each, on the individuals processed under Law No. 2872 on Environmental Law for "destroying biodiversity."
The statement noted that efforts to protect the environment and natural life will be carried out decisively to leave a more livable world for future generations.
