The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has initiated an information and training process regarding the new game rules to be implemented in the 2026-2027 season. The Central Referee Board (MHK) will train referees to ensure proper understanding and application of the new rules.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced that the new rules implemented in the FIFA 2026 World Cup will also be applied in our country in the new season.
Statement from the Central Referee Committee regarding the new game rules:
"The implementation principles of the new game rules, which were first applied in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, have been officially communicated by UEFA to member federations and referees on international duty.
As the Central Referee Committee, in alignment with other national federations in Europe, a comprehensive training and information process has been planned to ensure the correct and uniform application of the new game rules before the 2026-2027 season.
In this context, referees will receive training at the pre-season referee seminar with the participation of our UEFA instructor; afterward, the implementation principles of the new game rules and their reflections on our leagues will be shared with the public during a press briefing.
The information letter for "Game Rules Seminars" for our clubs was sent via the Clubs Union on July 2, 2026, and clubs were requested to submit their training requests to the Turkish Football Federation by July 10, 2026. Trainings will be conducted considering the preparation programs of our clubs; additional planning may be made if needed for clubs representing our country in UEFA organizations.
Similar training and information activities will be conducted before the start of the respective leagues, covering the Trendyol Super League and Trendyol 1st League, as well as Nesine 2nd League and Nesine 3rd League clubs. As the Central Referee Committee, our goal is to ensure that the new game rules are correctly understood by all stakeholders, strengthen the unity of application, and start the 2026-2027 season in full compliance with international standards."
