In a jewelry store in Iğdır, a theft occurred during the night, resulting in the theft of approximately 5-6 kilograms of gold. As part of the investigation launched regarding the incident, the suspects were apprehended, and some of the stolen gold and money were recovered. It was determined that the suspects had purchased luxury vehicles with the proceeds from the crime.
Last night at 03:11 in Iğdır, a person arrived on a motorcycle in front of a jewelry store located on Cumhuriyet Street, broke the door of the business, and entered inside.
STOLE 5-6 KILOS OF GOLD AND FLED
The suspect, who noticed the security cameras, completely covered his helmet and was seen on camera using the light from his phone to wander around the store for a while. The person fled the scene with approximately 5-6 kilograms of gold.
SECURITY CAMERAS REVIEWED, 3 SUSPECTS INCLUDING 1 WOMAN ARRESTED
In the morning, the jeweler owner Habip Temirak, who came to open the business, noticed that the gold had been stolen and reported the situation to the police. Teams that arrived at the scene began to examine the security camera footage, and a large-scale operation was launched to capture the suspects. As part of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Iğdır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a woman named İ.A., along with B.Ö. and M.B., who were determined to be involved in the theft, were taken into custody.
THEY PURCHASED A LUXURY VEHICLE WITH THE STOLEN GOLD
As a result of the investigations, some of the stolen gold and money were recovered, and it was determined that the suspects had purchased a BMW X5 vehicle with the proceeds from the crime. The vehicle in question was also seized. It was learned that the detained suspects would be charged with four separate offenses: theft from a workplace, violation of workplace immunity, damage to property, and money laundering from the proceeds of crime.
