A foreign-plated car that exited through the Derekoy Border Gate in Kirklareli to go to Germany was found at Bulgaria's Malko Tarnovo Customs Point to have 603.55 grams of smuggled gold jewelry.

After finishing their vacation in Turkey, an expatriate family came to Bulgaria's Malko Tarnovo Customs Point via the Dereköy Border Gate in Kırklareli to travel to Germany.

VEHICLE SUBJECTED TO CUSTOMS INSPECTION

The car driven by a German citizen of Turkish origin was subjected to customs inspection. The driver and accompanying passengers stated that they had no items to declare. During the examination by customs officers, gold bracelets, rings, earrings, medallions, and chains were found in 4 boxes in the driver's personal bag and clothing pockets.

603 GRAMS OF GOLD CONFISCATED

In the expert examination, it was determined that the market value of the gold jewelry, totaling 603.55 grams, was 88,345.50 euros. While the gold items were confiscated, a preliminary investigation was initiated regarding the incident under the supervision of the Burgas Regional Prosecutor's Office.
