Sevda Dinler, 22, whose life was left unfinished while waiting to be appointed, was laid to rest in the Kozan district of Adana. A speech by the imam at the young woman's funeral revealed Dinler's future dreams.
"I HOPE I WILL BE APPOINTED THIS YEAR," SHE SAID
A funeral ceremony was held at Kozan Asri Cemetery for Sevda Dinler, who lost her life in an armed attack in the Kozan district of Adana. Speaking before the funeral prayer, the imam recounted a conversation he had previously had with the 22-year-old young woman. Stating that Dinler was hopeful about the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS), the imam conveyed that the young woman had said the following to him: "I am expecting a good score from the KPSS. I hope I will be appointed this year." This sentence, which Dinler formed with her dream of being appointed, became one of the most painful details of the funeral ceremony. The young woman, who lost her life at just 22, was buried amid prayers and tears after the funeral prayer.
SHE WAS ATTACKED WHILE HAVING A PICNIC WITH HER FAMILY
The incident occurred at the Dağılcak Recreation Area in the Düzağaç Neighborhood of Kozan district. Sevda Dinler was attacked with a firearm while having a picnic with her sister and a friend. According to the allegation, 42-year-old Ganber F., against whom the young woman had previously obtained a restraining order on the grounds that he had harassed her, came up to Dinler at the recreation area. The suspect, who opened fire on the young woman in succession with the shotgun he brought with him, seriously wounded Dinler. Sevda Dinler died at the scene due to the wounds she sustained.
AS HE TRIED TO FLEE, PLAINCLOTHES GENDARMERIE CUT HIM OFF
After the attack, Ganber F. headed toward his car and tried to flee the scene. However, plainclothes gendarmerie personnel present at the recreation area blocked the suspect and prevented him from escaping. Gendarmerie teams who came to the area upon the report detained Ganber F. The young woman's body, after examinations at the scene, was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue for an autopsy.
THE RESTRAINING ORDER HAD EXPIRED
Another detail that emerged after the murder was that Sevda Dinler had previously obtained a restraining order against the suspect. It was stated that Dinler had applied to legal channels against Ganber F., who was said to have harassed her, but that the restraining order was not in effect on the date of the attack. The fact that the young woman lost her life despite having previously requested protection was one of the notable aspects of the incident.
THE SUSPECTED MURDERER OF THE YOUNG WOMAN WAS ARRESTED
Ganber F., whose procedures at the gendarmerie were completed, was referred to the courthouse. After being questioned at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was brought before the on-duty magistrate judge and was arrested and sent to prison.
