AK Party Secretary General and Izmir Deputy Eyyüp Kadir İnan stated in his message on the 10th anniversary of the July 15 treacherous coup attempt that the Turkish nation displayed a historic resistance that night upon President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s call. İnan said, "On July 15, we showed those who tried to include Turkey in their schemes that this nation will not be a pawn in any scenario."
AK Party Secretary General and İzmir Deputy Eyyüp Kadir İnan issued a message on his social media accounts on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
İnan stated that there were circles that awaited the outcome of the coup attempt on the night of July 15, 2016, and failed to take a clear stance in favor of democracy and the national will.
Noting that those who preferred to remain silent in the face of guns aimed at the national will acted with an understanding of "Something is happening in Turkey, let's wait," İnan used the following statements in his statement:
"While they watched the advance of tanks, the fire opened by planes in our skies, and the bombing of our Gazi Parliament, our noble nation had already made its decision. Our nation did not wait that night, did not hesitate, did not calculate the outcome."
İnan: "Those who waited for the outcome during the uprising ten years ago are now waiting for the decisions that Turkey will make."
Emphasizing that millions of citizens took to the squares upon the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, İnan noted that the nation, risking their lives, protected their homeland, flag, independence, and future.
Reminding that 10 years have passed since July 15, İnan stated that Turkey has become a strong country whose word and will are awaited in global matters during this process.
İnan said the following:
"Those who calculated on Turkey's future that night are now waiting for what Turkey will say in global matters. Those who watched the developments in Ankara from afar that night are now waiting for Ankara's will."
"We showed that this nation will not be a figurehead of any scenario."
Stating that the Turkish nation not only prevented a coup attempt on the night of July 15 but also disrupted the calculations made over Turkey, İnan continued his statement as follows:
"On July 15, we showed those who tried to include Turkey in their calculations that this nation will not be a figurehead of any scenario. We declared to the whole world that this nation cannot be calculated, that the will of our nation cannot be directed, and that games cannot be played with Turkey."
İnan concluded his message with the following words:
"Those who waited for the outcome while the uprising continued ten years ago are now waiting for the decisions that Turkey will make."
