The AK Party held its first parliamentary group meeting of 2026 with new members. Hasan Ufuk Çakır, who resigned from the CHP, received his party badge from President Erdoğan along with İrfan Karatutlu, who resigned from the DEVA Party, and İsa Mesih Şahin, who resigned from the Future Party. After receiving his badge, Hasan Ufuk Çakır saluted like a soldier and said, "There are two commanders-in-chief. One is Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha, and the other is the commander-in-chief of the Turkish Republic's armies, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."
Recently, three more members joined the AK Party, which has made many transfers.
İrfan Karatutlu, who resigned from the DEVA Party, along with Hasan Ufuk Çakır, who left his party after being referred to the Party Council with a request for his expulsion from the CHP, and Independent Istanbul MP İsa Mesih Şahin, who resigned from the Future Party last summer, joined the AK Party. Thus, the number of seats held by the AK Party in the parliament increased to 275.
The three members received their badges from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the group meeting at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
HE GAVE A MILITARY SALUTE Hasan Ufuk Çakır, who joined the AK Party after resigning from the CHP, gave a military salute to Erdoğan, saying in his speech after receiving his badge, "There are two commanders-in-chief. One is Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha, and the other is the commander-in-chief of the Turkish Republic's armies, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."

İsa Mesih Şahin "I WAS HERE IN SPIRIT" Kahramanmaraş MP İrfan Karatutlu stated, "I was here in spirit, and now I am here in body. This is the era of standing by our esteemed president."
İrfan Karatutlu
