TOKİ will build the most social housing in Istanbul.

According to the tender issued by the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for the "250 Thousand Social Housing Project," the highest number of housing units will be built in Istanbul, with a total of 165,055 social housing units across 70 provinces.

According to the information on TOKİ's website, the construction of 200,068 housing units was completed and delivered to the rightful owners in Turkey between 2019 and 2023 through TOKİ. Approximately 90% of these were social housing.



Continuing the tenders for the "250 Thousand Social Housing Project," which is the largest social housing initiative in the history of the Republic, TOKİ has also announced the tender dates for new housing, infrastructure, and landscaping works.



Accordingly, the tenders that started on November 7 will continue until June 2025. Thus, tenders will be held for a total of 165,055 social housing units, including 128,378 in major cities, completing the tender processes for all housing units in the 250 Thousand Social Housing Project.



THE MOST HOUSING WILL BE BUILT IN 3 MAJOR CITIES



Of the 165,055 social housing units put out to tender, 128,378 will be built in major cities. The majority of the housing will be constructed in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, respectively.



In Istanbul's Arnavutköy, Tuzla, Esenler, and Silivri districts, 48,416 units will be built; in Ankara's Çamlıdere, Ayaş, Kahramankazan, Kızılcahamam, Bala, Mamak, Sincan, Nallıhan, Gölbaşı, and Etimesgut districts, 13,646 units; and in Izmir's Central, Bergama, Kınık, Aliağa, Güzelbahçe, Kemalpaşa, Dikili, Menemen, Tire, Karaburun, Urla, and Torbalı districts, 11,325 units will be constructed.



The number of housing units to be tendered in other major cities is as follows:
