The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation following the boycott call made by the CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, while a statement also came from the Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat. Bolat stated, "Those who call for a boycott may file a compensation lawsuit against those who suffer financial losses in their trade."
After the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu in the corruption investigation, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a call for a "boycott." Özel made another statement today, targeting many companies, including some media organizations. Özel supported the boycott calls made for April 2 and urged citizens to participate.

In his statement, Özel said: "301 university students, who stood at the forefront against the March 19 Coup and took ownership of their futures, have been unlawfully arrested and are spending the holiday away from their families."

I wholeheartedly support the consumption boycott initiated by the youth against the oppression faced by students, mothers, fathers, and siblings. I invite everyone to join this boycott and use their power from consumption. The nation is the true owner of the state. MINISTER BOLAT: COMPANIES MAY FILE LAWSUITS FOR DAMAGES
As reactions to Özel grow exponentially, a striking statement came from Trade Minister Ömer Bolat. Minister Bolat stated that companies may file lawsuits for damages. Bolat said, "Those who suffer material loss in their trade due to the boycott calls may file lawsuits for damages."
