In the Mudanya district of Bursa, Seçkin A. fell ill after being affected by methane gas while cleaning a water well. When his son Efe A. went down into the well to help his father, both were poisoned by the gas. 17-year-old Efe died in the hospital.
Seçkin A. entered a water well in an olive grove in Mudanya district of Bursa to clean it and fainted, while his son Efe A. (17), who went down to rescue him, was poisoned by methane gas. Efe A., who was pulled out of the well, lost his life, while it was learned that the health condition of father Seçkin A. was good.
The incident occurred around 5:30 PM in Halitpaşa neighborhood of Mudanya district. According to reports, Seçkin A. entered the water well in the olive grove to clean it and fainted due to the effects of methane gas.
THEY WERE AFFECTED BY METHANE GAS
Noticing his father's condition, Efe A. entered the well to help, but he also fainted due to the gas. Upon notification, AFAD, fire department, health, gendarmerie, and police were dispatched to the scene.
17-YEAR-OLD EFE LOST HIS LIFE
With the efforts of the teams, father Seçkin A. and son Efe A. were pulled out of the well. During the examination by the health team, it was understood that Seçkin A.'s health condition was good, while Efe A., who lost consciousness, was taken to Mudanya State Hospital by ambulance. Despite the intervention of doctors, Efe A. could not be saved. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
