The accident occurred late at night on the Kastamonu-Inebolu highway near Soluğan village. The light commercial vehicle with license plate 37 ND 152, driven by Emirhan Şahin (25), who had come from Diyarbakır to Inebolu for wedding preparations, veered off the road due to reduced visibility caused by heavy fog and torrential rain. The driver lost control, and the vehicle rolled approximately 150 meters down a cliff, tumbling for meters.

In the terrible accident, driver Emirhan Şahin lost his life at the scene. The vehicle's occupants—his fiancée Medine D. (21), his fiancée's sister Mukadder Beyza D. (20), and his brother Berat D. (14)—were injured.

RESCUE OPERATION WITH CRANE CABLE AND 7-HOUR EFFORT

Emergency teams dispatched to the scene faced difficulties in rescue operations due to the steep and rugged terrain of the cliff. Using the crane cables of a tow truck called to the area, the injured were extracted from the cliff with intense effort and taken to hospitals by ambulance. The body of the deceased young driver was taken to the hospital morgue after investigations.

With daylight, gendarmerie and rescue teams launched an operation to remove the vehicle at the bottom of the cliff. The light commercial vehicle, reduced to a pile of scrap, was pulled up and loaded onto a tow truck after a grueling 7-hour effort in challenging terrain conditions. A judicial investigation into the accident continues.
