1.5-year-old Naime Avcı lost her life after being run over by her grandfather's reversing vehicle in the Yavuzeli district of Gaziantep. The grandfather was released after giving his statement.
In the Yavuzeli district of Gaziantep, a 1.5-year-old baby who was run over by the car her grandfather was reversing died at the scene. The incident occurred last evening in the rural Aşağıkekliktepe neighborhood of Yavuzeli. According to allegations, after grandfather S.V.A. unloaded materials from his car in his home's yard, while trying to reverse the vehicle, he did not notice his 1.5-year-old granddaughter Naime Avcı behind the car and struck her. The baby was severely injured after being trapped under the vehicle, and upon noticing the situation, the grandfather and other family members notified the 112 Emergency Call Center.
GRANDFATHER RELEASED AFTER TESTIMONY
Following the report, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. During the checks by the medical teams at the scene, it was determined that little Naime, aged 1.5, had lost her life. After the completion of procedures at the scene and the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute, the body was buried in Aşağıkekliktepe neighborhood.
After the incident, the grandfather S.V.A., who was taken into custody, was released following his testimony at the gendarmerie station, while it was learned that the investigation is ongoing.
