The horrifying moment of a terrible accident at a level crossing in Goose Creek, South Carolina, United States was captured on camera. In the footage, the moment a massive truck carrying a military tank collided with a freight train can be seen. The incident occurred just a few seconds after the driver managed to escape from the vehicle. Shocking images clearly show the train crashing into the 18-wheeler as it attempts to cross the tracks, causing debris to fly into the air. The Goose Creek Police Department received a report about the accident around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday. Police spokesperson Austin Staton stated that a CSX train collided with a "low-boy trailer truck." The police mentioned that the trailer portion of the truck got stuck while crossing the tracks. Sonya Pitt, who witnessed the incident, described how the driver tried to save the vehicle until the very last moment and managed to escape just seconds before the train hit. Pitt said, "At that moment, the barriers started to come down. We quickly went there and tried to tell the driver to get out of the truck. The driver jumped out, and the train was coming. Maybe 5 seconds later, the train crashed and destroyed everything," she said. No one was injured in the accident, and the driver refused treatment. Liberty Hall and Red Bank roads were temporarily closed to traffic. The military vehicle carried by the truck is believed to be an M109 howitzer. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. CSX company expressed gratitude for the prompt response of the Goose Creek Police and Fire departments, stating, "At CSX, safety is our top priority. We urge drivers to be cautious when approaching level crossings and to obey warning signs."
