U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order halting federal support for gender transition for individuals under the age of 19. A written statement from the White House reported that Trump signed the presidential decree aimed at "Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation."
"A STAIN IN HISTORY"
The decree stated that "medical professionals across the country, with a radical and erroneous understanding, are increasingly mutilating and sterilizing a growing number of children by being able to change a child's gender through a series of irreversible medical interventions." It was noted in the decree that this trend would remain "a stain in the history" of the American nation, and it was emphasized that this should come to an end.
"FUNDING HALTED"
The decree stated, "In this regard, the policy of the United States is to not finance, support, promote, or assist in the so-called transition of a child from one gender to another, and to rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures." With the decree defining the term "child" as individuals under the age of 19, federal funding that contributes to these individuals' gender transitions has been halted.
"THERE ARE ONLY TWO GENDERS"
In his inaugural address, U.S. President Donald Trump stated, "From now on, our official policy in America is that there are only two genders: male and female."
