US President Donald Trump targeted some American media outlets that were broadcasting about the Iran war. Trump claimed that news reports were suggesting Iran was militarily successful, describing such broadcasts as "treason."
In a statement on his social media account, Trump alleged that some television channels and newspapers were giving Iran "unnecessary hope."
“THEY ARE HELPING THE ENEMY”
In his statement, Trump said, “When the fake news media says that the Iranian enemy is militarily successful against us, that claim is so wrong and absurd that it amounts to treason. They are aiding and abetting the enemy.”
The US President’s remarks have sparked a new debate in the country over press freedom and war reporting.
“WE SUNK 159 IRANIAN SHIPS.”
In his post, Trump also claimed that the US has achieved a major military advantage over Iran.
Asserting that all 159 ships of the Iranian navy have been sunk, Trump said, “The reports give Iran false hope. Only losers, ingrates, and fools make arguments against America.”
TOUGH ATTACKS ON MEDIA CONTINUE
