Trump: Iran is preparing an offer to meet our demands

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran has prepared a new offer to meet U.S. demands, saying, 'They are making an offer. I don't know what it will be yet, but we'll see,' while the parties are expected to return to the negotiation table in Islamabad.

The conflicts that spread across the region following the attacks launched by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28 were halted by a two-week ceasefire reached between the US and Iran on April 8. The parties sat down at the negotiation table in Islamabad on April 11 through Pakistan's mediation, but the talks ended without reaching an agreement.

While the entire world closely follows developments in the region, US President Trump announced that the ceasefire has been extended until Iran presents a new proposal upon Pakistan's request. Speaking by phone to a British news agency, Trump stated that Iran is preparing a new proposal ahead of the planned talks in Islamabad, saying, "They are making an offer, I don't know what it will be yet, but we'll see."

Responding to a question about who is being consulted on the Iranian side during the negotiations, Trump avoided naming names and said, "I don't want to disclose that, but we are currently in contact with individuals who hold authority and power."

LIFE IS RETURNING TO NORMAL IN IRAN

Iran has resumed international flights that were suspended due to the war that began with the US-Israeli attacks on February 28, with the first flight heading to Istanbul. According to a report by Iranian state television, Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport has reopened for international flights. The first flight was operated by Meraj Airlines to Istanbul, while flights to Medina and Muscat were also conducted. It was stated that the flight schedule for the following days would be updated upon obtaining necessary permits from the Iran Civil Aviation Organization. Airports in Iran had been closed due to the war that started after the US and Israeli attacks on February 28. During the 40-day war, the US-Israel also targeted airports in Iran.

It was reported that the death sentence of Irfan Kiyani, who was accused of "participating in violent acts during the recent protests and having ties with Mossad," was carried out this morning in Isfahan, Iran. According to Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the Iranian judiciary, Kiyani, who was charged with taking part in violent acts during the latest demonstrations, was executed.

PROTESTS IN IRAN

Protests that began on December 28, 2025, in Iran, led by shopkeepers at the Tehran Grand Bazaar due to the rapid depreciation of the local currency against foreign exchange and deepening economic hardships, spread across the country. Following clashes that intensified during protests in the capital Tehran on January 8, the country's authorities blocked internet access.

While Iranian officials have not yet released any statement regarding the total number of deaths or injuries in the incidents, the US-based Iran Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported that 5,858 people lost their lives and 41,283 were arrested during the protests and subsequent clashes. In a statement issued on January 21 by the Forensic Medicine Organization of the Iranian Martyrs and Veterans Foundation, it was reported that 3,117 people, including security forces and civilians, lost their lives during the protests. It was stated that 2,427 of these individuals were security forces and civilian citizens killed by "armed terrorist groups," while no information was provided about 690 people.
