INITIALY 25% BUT COULD INCREASE FURTHER
Trump also indicated that the customs duties on drugs and chips would initially be around 25% and would significantly increase within a year. Claiming that the customs duties would encourage companies to return to the U.S., Trump said that if they establish factories within the country, the taxes would be zero. Trump noted that some large companies want to return to the U.S. due to economic policies regarding customs duties, taxes, and incentives.
