US President Donald Trump gave a very harsh response to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statements that 'the US is being humiliated by Iran.' Trump argued that Merz does not understand the extent of the nuclear threat, saying, 'He doesn't know what he's talking about.'
US President Donald Trump responded to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s remarks about the Iran war and Washington.
“HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT HE’S TALKING ABOUT”
Trump argued that Iran possessing nuclear weapons would pose “a serious threat to the world” and stated that global security would be at risk in such a scenario.
Noting that some countries and leaders should have taken steps earlier on this issue, Trump then referred to Merz’s statements and claimed that Merz thinks “Iran having nuclear weapons is not a problem,” adding, “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
Trump also touched on Germany’s economic situation, asserting that the country is going through a difficult period both economically and in other areas.
MERZ: THE US IS BEING HUMILIATED BY IRANIAN LEADERSHIP
Stating that he does not believe the US can quickly end the war in Iran, Merz said, “Because Iranians are much stronger than previously thought, and Americans do not have a truly convincing strategy in negotiations.”
Merz stated, “The problem with such conflicts is always this: It’s not enough to just go in; you also need to get out again. We saw this very painfully in Afghanistan for 20 years. We also saw it in Iraq.”
Merz argued that the Americans entered this war in Iran without any plans, which makes ending the conflict even more difficult now.
Noting that Iranians are very good negotiators or very talented at not negotiating, Merz said, “An entire nation (the US) is being humiliated by Iranian leadership.”
